Did you know that black cats have their own holiday? Yup. August 17th is Black Cat Appreciation Day, an entire day devoted to the cuteness of ebony-hued felines. And, sure, here in the states, black cats conjure up ideas of age-old superstitions and bad luck, but elsewhere it’s a different story. For instance, the Japanese tend to see black cats as nothing but good luck, and Swedish culture insists that the furry felines bring prosperity.
